Peter Rome is a partner with the law firm of Ulmer & Berne LLP where he is chair of the Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity/Venture Capital and Corporate Finance Practice Groups. Peter also serves as the firm’s Marketing Partner. He regularly works with entrepreneurs, emerging businesses, private equity funds and public companies to help them achieve their goals. He is active in all stages of business from strategic planning to debt and equity financings, board and governance counseling, executive and incentive compensation, technology and complex business transactions; and other commercial arrangements, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, corporate succession planning and divestitures. Peter is an active member of the community and has served as a board member or liaison to numerous organizations, including the American Bar Association; the Ohio State Bar Association; the Cleveland Bar Association (Chair, Securities Law Section; Vice Chair Securities Council; Securities Institute Planning Committee); the American Heart Association Cleveland Metro Section (Board Chairman); the Case Western Reserve University School of Law (Guest Lecturer); the Center for Families and Children (Board Member); the Cleveland Sports Commission (Board Member); the Continental Cup (Local Organizing Member); the Council of Smaller Enterprises Leadership Council; the Hawken School Board of Trustees (President of the Alumni Board); Leadership Cleveland; Tufts University (Founding President, Northern Ohio Tufts Alliance); and the Weatherhead School of Management (Guest Lecturer). Peter graduated from Tufts University (magna cum laude) and earned his JD from George Washington University with high honors. He is a member of the Order of the Coif. He is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and was named an “Ohio Super Lawyer” in a survey of Ohio lawyers by Law and Politics and Cincinnati magazines. Peter has advanced training in organization systems and development from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. |
