Dr. Mike Roizen is a member of the InvestLinc Board of Advisors, the Chairman of the Division of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, and Comprehensive Pain Management at The Cleveland Clinic, and Cofounder and Chairman of RealAge, Inc. He resides in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Roizen serves as physician to 8 Nobel Prize winners, 340 ex-smokers, over 100 Fortune 500 CEO’s and CFO’s, and countless others. He has been listed in the Best Doctors in America since 1989. He has authored over 155 scientific papers, 100 textbook chapters, 30 editorials, and 4 medical books, and 8 medical books for the lay audience including the #1 NY Times best-sellers "RealAge: Are You As Young As You Can Be?" and "You: the Owners Manual." An accomplished lecturer, he has spoken to over 1200 professional medical groups, and appeared on The Oprah Winfrey show (8 times), Today (17 times), 20/20, CBN (5 times), CNN, CBS, Good Morning America (8 times), The Montel Williams Show, and PBS. He has also been featured in Fortune, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Reader’s Digest (he and his coauthor write a 2 page column monthly), Men’s Health, and Prevention. Dr. Roizen has served as CEO of the Biotechnology Research Corporation of Central New York, as Dean of the School of Medicine and Vice President for Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Upstate. He has held the position of Chairman of the top-10 rated department of Anesthesia and Critical Care at the University of Chicago, and served as Medical Director of the Chicago Program for Executive Health. He has been a member of the faculty of the University of California at San Francisco, and served a tour of duty at the National Institutes of Health with the Public Health Service in the laboratory of Irv Kopin and Nobel Prize winner Julius Exelrod. He is the former editor of six medical journals and holds twelve US patents, along with several foreign patents. Dr. Roizen received his AB from Williams College, where he was Phi Beta Kappa; his MD from the University of San Francisco, where he was Alpha Omega Alpha; completed his internship in medicine and his residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston; and his residency in anesthesia at the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Roizen is active with the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology. He has served as past chairman of the Food and Drug Administration advisory board, and sits on the board of directors of Trio Health and RealAge. He is passionate about changing the health of the nation and individuals for the better, and enjoys competitive squash and holding season tickets for local basketball teams. |
